blocking software if what i've said is correct06/26/2007 Like most households in the United States we have a home computer. Unlike most households our computer is a recent addition to the family. I am still amazed at the wealth of information that is available with only a few clicks of the keyboard. As with all good and wonderful things there are also the objectionable and distasteful sides to unlimited information. I believe in free speech and advocate for individual rights, however I do not want my children exposed to things that I find offensive, especially within our home. I found that by using blocking software I can monitor what my children are exposed to without needing to sit next to them at our computer. I want them to feel free to do their homework and communicate with friends and play games when I am in another room or away from home, but I also know that children are naturally curious and may get involved in web sites that can be unhealthy for them.
