When I decided to ditch my desktop and head to laptop land, I mostly investigated the difference between PC's and Mac's. Especially since you are about to spend a chunk of cash, you want to make certain the notebook does what you need. While I ended up choosing a MAC for its simplicity, my wife preferred a Dell for other reasons concerning her work in any case.
